I have just set up my shiny O2 broadband router and yes speeds are better than I was getting with BT.

My one issue is with my wireless printer, the new router firewall seems to prevent this from working on my network. Something about UDP port 427 needs enabling, but that whole game and application sharing thing confuses me. Does anyone have any simple steps to configure this I'm not a network expert!

thanks

Yo waj, dude you really should need to set up port forwarding, most routers these days including o2's dont need port forwarding set up.

Though check if UPNP is enabled by following the steps below...

- open web browser
- type in "192.168.1.254" into address bar
- when page loads click "toolbox" from the left hand menu
- when page loads, click "game and application sharing"
- once loaded, you will be able to see if "upnp" is enabled, and also try disabling "extended security" and then try your xlink kai.
- this can be done by clicking "configure" from top right hand menu

- if disabling the extended security does not resolve your issue, might be a good idea to enable it again.

Hope that helps

Kathryn..

If you have O2 Wireless Box III, the one that supports N. You can put that in bridge mode and run a cable from your Netgear to your O2 Wireless Box.

Or....

Yes, you can, The Cd is mainly step by step guide on how to set up the broadband.

check the lights on your O2 router, make sure the DSL and Internet Light are green, and you should be able to connect to your dreambox. If you have any problems, call free on 0800 230 0202, and they can give you hand.

Paolo, your best bet is to give o2 Broadband a call and ensure that you are on the correct package.
