@Potts, sometimes unlocking the thing speeds it up! I remember sitting there once while it said ‘Waiting for Activation’ I slid to unlock and 5 seconds later it’d done it. Probably just a coincidence, but try it anyway!

@Steven: It is My brother has sent me many an MMS in the past and to be honest I never really felt compelled to go through the steps to view it online as it was such a pain. Now to get them directly is much more convenient.

It’s nice to view MMS directly in the SMS app now rather than have to view them on the web.

Potts, are you a new iPhone customer? The only time I have seen the activation message was my first sync with iTunes.

@Tom: Yeah, I know a few people who updated the same time as me got their MMS activated straight away.

@Potts: I haven’t got a clue what you could do, other than call o2 and ask them to look into it. What a nuisance, though. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

Hello.
I updated the software a few hours ago, and I’ve still got the classic:
“Waiting for Activation. This may take a little while”
message on my iPhone 3g. Is there anything I can do to speed the process up – I need to make some phone calls!!

I’m sure my mate said his was activated pretty much straight away, he didn’t have to do anything either. I guess it’s luck of the draw

Thanks for the info on setting up Find My iPhone. It didn’t seem very obvious at first so thanks for your directions, lol. My MMS was activated this afternoon and is probably the software 3.0 feature I’ll use the most.
