Pre-ordering Snow Leopard
Mac OS X Snow Leopard was added to the Apple Store today for pre-order, with a release date of Friday 28th August, priced £25/$29 with free shipping.

I pre-ordered my copy early this afternoon. I must admit to not being terribly excited about Snow Leopard as my focus has been somewhat on their hardware and this iTablet/iPad that has been rumoured to death for months now. I hope Apple officially announce one way or another soon what is happening on that front. Hopefully there will be confirmation on or around the next Apple Event, expected in September.
So, have you pre-ordered Snow Leopard yet? What features are you most looking forward to?

Hi Stu. Yeah, it’s likely music at the September event. Hoping that if there is a tablet on the way we’ll know more in the next few weeks, on when we can expect it.
Hey Christina! Ooh, you’ll love the iPhone. If there isn’t confirmation of a tablet arriving in 2009 then I am going to treat myself to the iPhone 3GS. I already have the 3G but really want the video functionality of the 3GS. Here’s hoping we both get some lovely Apple toys to play with soon

Hi Sam,
Sadly there will be no Snow Leopard for me – I’m stuck in the G5 dark ages
I hoping for some kind of decent announcement at the September event too – I have money burning a hole in my pocket and I either want an Apple tablet or at least a Touch with camera/mic/GPS. But I fear I may get neither… -

I told myself I wasn’t going to bother ordering Snow Leopard – but, I saw your tweet and couldn’t resist

To be honest, it’s pretty much a blind purchase, I haven’t read about any of the new features – as far as I know, it’s nothing major?
I only ordered one copy though, so I need to decide which computer to put it on, decisions decisions. Also, I wonder if you can help me with a question I have – when I install Snow Leopard, will that disk be usable if I ever want to restore my system, or will I have to restore using the Leopard disks and then re-install Snow Leopard?
Anywhoo, byeee

Will goto the local Apple Store tomorrow morning and pick up a copy. I don’t think I will upgrade my home iMac and Mac mini till I came back from vacation. However, I will play with it right after at my office. Folks are all waiting for me to bring back Snow Leopard. =)
iTablet/iPad, not sure why I feel indifferent even as a big Apple use, but I am somewhat excited about the up-coming iPod lineup.
Rawr!

Snow Leopard was a no-show today for the majority of UK peeps who ordered online. In the past when pre-ordering, Apple have always got it out the door early so that it arrives on the actual official release day. Not so this time around. They dispatched it early Thursday morning and is coming via mail on a very slow boat from the Netherlands, lol!
Estimated delivery date is 2nd September. But, hoping for tomorrow as Monday is a Bank Holiday here, so after tomorrow the earliest I’d get it is Tuesday. Boo and indeed hoo.

Wouldn’t hold your breath for September – isn’t the sept announcement usually ipod related?
