SKY need a BT line, which is a shame.

TalkTalk are fine if you're lucky and get a solid line and connection, but if your equipment or line is temperamental then they have a nasty habit of fobbing people off and telling them it's their PC/Mac equipment which is at fault.

I can think of at least one occasion where a TalkTalk advisor told a customer that their Mac was the problem, as TalkTalk don't provide OS X drivers for the Wireless Modem/Router, and that they'd need to purchase a Windows-based PC to use the service!!

We tested the machine thoroughly with no replication of the fault, and suggested the user have a stern word with their ISP. :p

Shame that they are not a LLU provider on my exchange otherwise I would have taken them up on this.
However, not going on O2 Access for Broadband.

Hey Stu! Haha, that sounds perfectly reasonable to me ;) Really looking forward to the new iPhone this year.

I'm not sure what the deal is with SKY, but I would imagine a BT line is needed for that.

free iphone? HA - just had to pay through the nose to get the 3gs upgrade.

I know the 4th gen may just be round the corner, but I have that covered - the wifes contract is up in June, and then she can have my shiny new 3gs ... WHAT? that's reasonable, right? haha

o2 homephone, may just do that. Will Sky be pissed though? You're meant to have a BT landline right?

That's good, Sam. Just thought I'd mention it. What you need now is for o2 to reward your loyalty with a free iPhone when the new one comes out. :-)

Hi John. My Aunt is on TalkTalk and her package is very good indeed. I considered moving there everytime my BT bill came in. However, I am so happy with every aspect of o2 (price/service reliability/customer support) that I've no plans to move anywhere else now that Home Phone is coming for the same price as TalkTalk - and sounds like the package features (with regards to international calls) are pretty much identical to o2.

Do check out TalkTalk before you make a decision. I know they were rightly criticised when they first rolled out their phone and broadband package but things seem to have settled down now. I certainly have no complaints and neither does my neighbour.
I pay £20 per month for phone and broadband. This includes line rental and all phone calls, including ones to 28 other countries. I regularly call France at no extra cost. There is a rule about not speaking for longer than an hour (just hang up before and call again!) and I pay a bit extra to avoid paying for 0870 calls.
Don't know if my package is still available but it is very good.
