UK iPad Shipping begins
Today my 32GB iPad was shipped, 7 days exactly before the official UK release date of Friday 28th May. I was a little surprised as I wasn’t anticipating shipping until early next week.
Yesterday ‘cancel order’ was greyed out on my iPad order page which made me suspect something was happening, but didn’t expect it to have started to make it’s way to me. As yet it’s not giving me any details of carrier other than Fast Ship (EMEA) and there’s no estimated delivery date available. I imagine that info will become available soon and a ‘item despatched’ email to follow.
If you’re in the UK or other countries expecting the iPad on May 28th, has yours shipped yet?

Saturday morning (UK time) I received an email indicated despatch had occured. Logging in I was able to get to a “tracking” option and this provided carrier as TNT and a reference number. Over the weekend the TNT track facility was down.
Today, the carrier is no longer listed as TNT but Fast Ship (EMEA), the track option and tracking numbers have all vanished too.

Mine said it shipped on the 23rd (Sunday!!), and delivery will be ‘on or before 28th’. Initially I was told TNT but now can’t find that anywhere – its disappeared also. Keep checking TNT website but ref number is not recognised. Guess I’ll just have to wait til Friday! Though it would be frustrating if it arrived earlier and I missed it!

Mine is in transit from Hong Kong and has been for about 24 hours or more now, via TNT. Oddly I received an email from Apple yesterday stating ‘failed delivery attempt’ and told me to contact TNT. I called them and the guy said no-one had called at my home but that delivery would be today (Tuesday 25th). This was most odd because it was just leaving Hong Kong at that time and of course no sign of it today and like some of you it states delivery date unknown.

I originally had a number starting with 81, but then yesterday when I went to Apple tracking it had changed to a “1Z” number and the carrier from UPS to Fast Ship EMEA.
Overnight I received an invoice for the full amount so am assuming that it must be in transit from somewhere. Apple said, when I phoned them, that it would be delivered on 28th.
Would’ve been useful to get something more concrete, so will have to stay in all Friday to see if it’s delivered then.

I haven’t been sent an invoice from Apple or even the shipping confirmation email. It’s been very shabby and I had to jump through hoops to find my tracking number. My order page on the Apple site when I log in to my account just does not give me any tracking info at all and it’s been well over a day since the status was changed on the TNT website.
I wish there was clearer information on shipping and delivery. I’m afraid to go out now incase it arrives earlier than expected

Hi, sounds like a few of us are having the same thing – my first email arrived on 22nd May saying it had shipped and my on-line order info had UPS listed as the courier. I have received my invoice today with a tracking number beginning with 81 that neither the UPS nor TNT websites recognise, and my order status on the Apple store now says Fast (EMEA). Am sure we’ll get them Friday… (I hope).

Like most I had first email saturday saying “shipped” I tracked mine from china twice third time status said call tnt which I did and was told there is no problem it will arrive thursday 27th between 9 and 5 I have also had a invoice and and shipping notice from apple.
I did have a problem with tracking at one point but found if i typed tnt into google and click on track under the main search find click the reference not the consignment and use the number from the apple invoice which starts with 81…….. i can treack no problem but as of tuesday 21.00.00 its still in Hong kong

Sam, try using the Apple delivery ref number starting 81… and the ‘Track by Reference’ option on the UPS site…

Just spoke to Apple and first he said it would be shipped by the 28th to the Carrier. I told him the first email said it would be delievered to me by the 28th. He put me on hold and then came back and said the carrier will deliever on the 28th and it was TNT ( i have accessories) and TNT would send an email with tracking between now and 28th. 81.. number still does not work on TNT tracking

Phoned TNT – the lady laughed and asked if I was expecting an Ipad and said I was the 15th person in a row! She said they arrived in UK tonight and are being sent to depots overnight for definite delivery tomorrow between 8 and 5pm… d’oh!…am working tomorrow – although now I think of it, I’m suddenly feeling really rather poorly

It’s been fun following the comments today; my iPad is being delivered by UPS and is currently in transit somewhere in Tamworth (not the Snow Dome I hope) so it may well be delivered on Thursday. Which would be nice.
Look forward to seeing who’s first to prove actual delivery. Game on.

Mine was delivered via UPS. Interestingly before he would hand it over the UPS driver had my wife tell him the name that was on the parcel. Apparently they had a big meeting about the ipad deliveries this morning and have to be very careful who they leave them with if the addressee isn’t in to accept delivery. The only day this week I can’t leave work early!

I was a sneaky I work just outside the town centre most parcel del can’t go ior won’t go into town or city centres after 10.00 it arrived at just b4 10.00 I have a slight problem the plug does not work but the one from the iPhone the same so just swapped the plug local apple store Tolstoy me to pop in and they will change seemed surprised as iPad do not launch till Friday lol

Finally got it, missed the delivery at 3pm, while I was on the phone to TNT to arrange collection at the Depot (I might have crossed paths with Mike, as I live in Glasgow too, but TNT instead of UPS). The driver turned up as I was chasing TNT, and my wife popped next door to check if it had been dropped off with the neighbour.
Unboxed, Synced and my 4 year old is watching Numberjacks on You Tube, job done! -

Well I’m still waiting
TNT turned up at work on 27th at 4:30pm. They said that they had to reduced the numbers that they carried for insurance purposes
TNT turned up at work on 28th at 4:30pm still with no package, but the driver said he knew where it was and would be back within the hour. I waited at work for 3 hours, but no sign of him
Impossible to try and speak with TNT and complain
Apple are trying to divert the package to home for a Saturday delivery, but I don’t believe TNT can actually cope
Worst still I had to visit PC World to pick up some goods and they still had supplies of iPad at noon!
This really is magic and revolutionary
