CushCase for iPad 2

0

After buying my iPad 2 almost a week ago, I’ve been keen to find it a sleeve to live in to protect when not in use. I had been thinking about buying the Smart Cover, but I’m the kind of girl that likes her tech fully enveloped in softness and protection all over, not just the screen.

I browsed what felt like the entire internet, but everything fell short of what I wanted. What I really wanted was a denim sleeve to match the CushCase for my MacBook Air I bought last month. But a quick look at the CushCase eBay store I purchased it from and there were no denim sleeves listed to fit iPad 2.

I decided it couldn’t hurt to email the seller to enquire, given that that is how I obtained the denim sleeve for the 11″ MacBook Air. Once again CushCase came up trumps and they had the iPad 2 sleeves in stock (£8.99), just not listed yet. That was Tuesday, today (Thursday) it arrived. Like with the MacBook Air case I’m thrilled with it. Looks great and offers all round protection for my gadget. Best part for the iPad is the soft fleece inside which cleans the screen every time you slide it in and out.

At the time of writing, the denim sleeve for iPad 2 isn’t listed on the CushCase store but if you fire a quick email off to the seller I’m sure he’ll help you out.

iPhone is all good in the Hood

6

I like unusual things that make people smile. One of those was the Apple Logo Lamp I bought last week. Today it’s a Hoodie…for my iPhone.

It's all good in the iPhone Hood(ie)

Flicking through a magazine article recently, I spotted an iPhone wearing a hoodie. It was just too cute to ignore. The website advertised as carrying the hoodies in the article didn’t actually have any available, so after a quick Google search I found Amazon had them for £8.95. It fits iPod Classic, iPod touch and iPhone. Not knowing the specific dimensions of the Classic and iPod touch I wasn’t sure how fitting this would be for iPhone 4 – but it’s absolutely perfect. The back of the box it came in also says it will fit many other kinds of MP3 players and phones.

This might not be the kind of cover I’d feel too comfortable about carrying my iPhone around in outside, but it sure does stop the smooth back of the iPhone sliding around on my bed. But hey, more importantly than that it just looks so cool, to heck with it being practical!

FELTU sleeve for iPhone 4

0

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a ‘Jeans Lovers’ iPhone 4 sleeve ($18.90) from FELTU.com after a friend mentioned it on Twitter. I’d already bought the Noir Luxe case some months ago, but have been looking for something a little more stylish and FELTU seemed to fit that bill.

The sleeve arrived yesterday and my first impressions were a little disappointing. It didn’t feel as well made as I anticipated and the ‘jeans’ material isn’t really denim at all – just a material that looks like it. I could get past this little cosmetic issue if it felt more protective than it does and had adequate velcro fastening. But really, that part is pretty much useless and barely fastens at all. I’m not confident that if I pulled it out of my pocket upside down that the velcro fastener would keep the phone from sliding out of the sleeve and crashing to the floor.

iPhone 4 sleeve from Feltu.com

While it looks quite nice as you can see above, I just feel let down by the quality of it. The sleeve does appear quite a bit wider than the iPhone 4, so it’s definitely not snug and could easily slip out if that velcro isn’t secure. At the moment I am using it in the house only and feel that I will be popping it back into my Noir Luxe sleeve when I go out, for that added protection and the magnetic fastening which holds it in place.

So, my search for a both stylish and secure sleeve for iPhone 4 continues.

Griffin Jumper for iPad

With the iPad due to land at Fruit Bytes HQ in just 3 days, I have been wanting to find a suitable sleeve to carry it in. I first turned my attention to the official iPad case from Apple, but after hearing about it’s tight fit and inability to sit in the iPad Dock while in it’s case, I started to look around for alternatives.

Because I wanted a sleeve to easily pop my iPad in and out of between using, I started my search online a couple of weeks ago for something that not only does the job but looks good aswell. One of my first stops was Griffin Technology, knowing how they make great accessories for Apple hardware. I found the perfect sleeve: Jumper for iPad.

I ordered the Jumper on Monday 17th May and it was shipped on Tuesday 18th May. Despite the estimated delivery time of 2-3 weeks it arrived today, just 7 days after shipping! That’s super speedy delivery.

Jumper for iPad by Griffin

I am absolutely thrilled with it. The material is a soft stretchy neoprene on the outside with a beautiful soft material inside which will really offer great protection against dust and dirt.

Griffin also have fantastic support, from the speedy and friendly response I got when asking for stock estimation, to the despatch and delivery of it. Jumper for iPad is just $29.99 which is a fantastic price for such a good quality and well made sleeve.
